I'm very happy the soccer season has aready started. I'm planning to go to the playoffs. Many of the players that are on varsity are from last year but they have improved a lot in their condition and controlling the ball. I think we have a good team. I wish I could score a goal and help my team go to the playoffs and become champions. We have to win games and hopefully become champions. Many schools think that they can beat us badly but they don't know that we have improved a lot and we are ready to win. I know they have good players but they aren't better than us. We can play any team and win. I wish that I can play all of the games. Our first game is vs. Akins. They are very good. They have good control of the ball, but I think we can win. Our second game is vs. Hutto. I have never seen them play, but I think that they have a good team. We have 18 games and all of the games are with schools that are very hard to beat. I think going the fina is going to make others students to join the soccer team. Some good players that Crockett had are gone because they graduated. Some players that were in varsity aren't going to play because of their bad grades and their attitude they show on the field.

The war in Iraq is killing many people. People lose their lives because of the stupidity of the people that don't know how to control their anger. I think that having the troops over there is a waste of time. I think the reasons Bush started the war were so stupid. He thought that Saddam Hussein had something to do with 9-11. I think it's not worth it to try to win a war that is impossible to win. President Obama should bring the trops back home. I think this is the best idea because he can prevent the deaths of more innocent people. The soldiers are giving their own lives just to win and make the president happy. Nobody will win anything important. I think that it's going to be the best idea to stop the war and bring the trops back home. I think this is the best idea.

Boys' try outs
Try outs start in December. I cant wait for them to start. I really want to start playing soccer. I hope we can wins some games and go to the play offs and bring the district title for the first time. I really want to play and be the MVP of the district. I hope we win and become champions. I think we have a very good team and I think we can do well. My goal for this year is to score at least 6 goals with varsity and make them win games.

The war in Iraq
The world in Iraq is killing many people. Many people lose their lives because of the stupidity of people that don't know how to control their anger. It very sad that people are killing themselves just to see who is more powerful or who's right or wrong. I think that they should not be over there. Everyone needs a family with them and it not fair for the soldiers to be away from their families. The president should bring the soldiers back home. I think if he does that, it will be better for both countries. The U.S and Iraq and should put their anger to the side, forget about fighting and live peacefully. Many families suffer for the people that are in Iraq giving their own lives just so the president or other people can be happy.
Drugs
I think it is not a good idea to do drugs. It's just killing you and your family. Drugs can waste your money. If you don't do any type of drug, you will have the chance to live longer and have extra money to have a happy life. Don't do drugs, because you are hurting your family by your actions and wasting money that your children need. Many people think that drugs are the solution to their problems, but they are wrong. Drugs are bad for you. You can get many diseases and die. People, don't do drugs!

my life
I was playing soccer in Mexico. I wasn't the best player, but I got to play the entire game. I scored two goals, but only one was the best goal I had ever made. I was very surprised! I couldn't believe how perfect and good the goal was. I was very happy about it. I was yelling like crazy. The goal was the best goal. It was on a corner kick. It was an olympic goal! It was very good. I thought it wasn't mine at first, because it made a curve and I thought someone else had touched it. I was very, very suprised about it. One thing that made it memoriable was that I wasn't the best kicker, and they gave me a chance to kick, and I scored! I was very happy that day but that goal made it the best day ever. Nobody can make goals like that! I thought that the goal was very lucky. I never thought I could make a goal like that. For me, it was the best and the only one that I had made.

drugs
Many people do drugs to feel better but let me tell you all something: Dont do it! You are just wasting your money. Many people smoke but they don't know that they are killing themselves by doing it. I think that smoking its a bad choice; it doesn't affect you right away, but as time passes by, your lungs and heart and brain get realy bad. You can get lung cancer if you don't quit smoking. Smoking doesn't take you anywhere--just to die. Think abut what you do, because you can hurt your future. Drugs are a big deal in the United States and in many other countries, too. Drug trafficking is very dangerous in countries like Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras and elsewhere.

my weekend
My weekend was very fun. I went to Houston to visit my cousins. They were waiting for us with some carnitas, and it was fun. After eating, we went to the stores to buy some things and to spend time together. It was very interesting because I was looking at new things. Then we went downtown I saw a lot of buildings that were huge and very interesting. Well, I was thinking that Austin is a beautiful city but they dont have as many big buildings as Houston,San Antonio, Dallas or any other city. I think that since Austin is the capital of Texas and they don't have many big buildings, I think that they should make more buildings.

Halloween
Halloween is a time to spend with friends and have a good time. I will go to spend time on 6th Street with my friends. Another good thing is I'm going to celebrate my birthday, too. For my birthday, I want to spend time with my family and have a good time, too. The most interesting part will be the costumes that I will see there. I will dress like a jail prisoner. I think it will be fun. I think going to 6th street is going to be very fun and cool, too.

Mexico
I love my country but one thing that I love the most is the soccer they play there. The teams there have a lots of things. I wish I could play with one of them. My favorite team is SANTOS LAGUNA, the best team ever in the history of soccer in Mexico. Mexico has very good teams and very good players but they don't know how to use them for good. Mexico used to have a very good team but now they don't. Before, they could beat almost all of the teams in Central America but now they cannot even score on them. I think it was not a good idea to classify to go to the World Cup even though being in the World Cup makes mexican people very proud, It makes me proud, too, but I really think that they will lose almost of all the games in the competition. I wish they could win a World Cup some day. I want to study in Monterrey, Mexico, and hopefully I can try out for soccer and play for Monterrey and become famous and finally play for my national team, Mexico. I wish I could become one of the best players in Mexico and all over the world. I think soccer is the best sport ever in the world and no sport will match it, because soccer is more than that. In soccer, you learn more things that help you act good and be respectfull. Playing soccer is the best thing that was ever made.

Friday

I went with my brother to buy some cleats for soccer. He got these new Nike shoes. They were very expensive and comfortable. I thought the price was too high ($250). I thought he wasn't going to pay for them, but he did.

Today, I took an important test--it was the hardest test I have ever taken. I hope I did well. If you get a high enough score, you can Have a chance to win a scholarship. I really want to become a doctor, and I don't have enough money to pay for college. I think this test was a pretty good chance to do well and win the scholarship I want to help me to achieve my goals. Having dreams is easy, but making them come true is very hard. That's why I'm trying to do well and continue with it until I achieve them.

My weekend

i saw the concaf games--Mexico vs. Trinidad y tobago, and USA vs. Costa Rica. I thought Mexico was going to win. Mexico played a horrible game. They looked like they didn't want to play soccer. I thought Mexico was going to score more than 3 or more goals, but they didn't they tied 2-2. In the USA vs. Costa Rica game, I was wanting Costa Rica to win the game, not because I hate the USA, but because I didn't want Honduras to go to the World Cup. If Costa Rica had won Honduras, would have had less chance to go to the World Cup; but it didn't happen. Honduras went to the the World Cup and Costa Rica didn't. Too bad for them. Too bad--they have been working so hard to go to the world cup.

MY WEEKEND
I went to play soccer. It was nice, we won even though I didn't score a goal, I think I did a pretty good job playing in the position they put me in. They put me as a defender. I saved 2 or more goals that they were trying to score. After the game, I went with my brother to watch a movie. The movie we saw was "9." It was very funny and interesting. Then we went to buy 2 soccer balls to have for practice. When we were looking for the soccer balls I saw this collection of balls that they have used in the past World Cups. They were so beatuful.

helping others
I like to help other people that need it. Some people think that helping others is a waste of time. I choose to help others it because I like to help and to participate in my community to make it more safe. Famous people give a lot of money to many different associations that help people, but I think they just want to be heroes, and they don't care what really happens to them. They can give away a lot of money just to show that theu have it, but I think they don't care about them. I think they care more about their reputations than taking care of kids that are poor. I'm not rich but I have a heart, and I will help them. One of my dreams I had is to help others that need it.

Soccer season
I wish soccer season would start. I really want to play soccer. I personally want to beat Travis. They have been beating us for a long time and we don't do anyting about it. I think it's time for Crockett to go to the playoffs and beat Travis badly, so that they could always remember how Crockett beat them. Every time we play they beat us 5-2 or more and we just can't beat them. I think nothing in this world is imposible. I think we can beat them and go to the playoffs and show people that don't believe in Crockett, how talented we are. I also think it's time for Crockett to have a title (trophy). We are going to give everything we've got just to win games.

Health in soccer
Health is very important in soccer. Why is important to eat right and be healthy? Well, as a soccer player, I have to eat right. I eat things that are good for me almost every day because I dont want to get fat. In soccer, you have to be in good condition, and if you don't take care of yourself, you it will be difficult to play. Every time I'm going to play soccer, they make me a take a physical to see if I'm good to play on the soccer team. They also do that to see if I don't have other problems that may cause my death.

my weekend
This was one of the best weekends that I ever had. On Saturday, I woke up at 6:00am because I went to play soccer with my brother. I played the entire game. I got to score 2 goals. Finally, we won the game, 3-0! It was very fun. Then we went to eat and watch a movie and do other things. On Sunday, I went out with my brother. We spent almost all of the time out together.
respect
Why is it important to respect others and act good in front of others? I always see how people treat each other. Some people call each other names. I think we should be all equal, regardless of color, age, or were are you from--it should not matter. If you want respect, give respect. It's good to go give respect. I respect other people so that they respect me.
music
I listen to different types of music. I love to listen to bachata and cumbia--they're cool. I listen to music to relax. I think it's a good way to relax because it make you think of something else.

My Heros
my heros are my parents. They talk to me and help me with all of my problems. When we were in Mexico it was all different. For example, they were always telling us to to to church; now that we're here, we don't go to church any more. In Mexico, you always do what your parents say, but in America, you can do pretty much what you want. But any way, my parents are the best in my opinion. There will be no parents like them. I know that you see your parents the same as me because of the love you feel for them. Don't talk back to your parents and act good, ok!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
my emotions
Its hard to control my emotions because when I get mad I can't control myself. I think it's important to know how to control yourself. To control yourself do what you do best: dance, play, or draw. These are good ideas to control yourself and not do stupid things. Why many people don't know how to control themselves is probably because they don't know how. Know how to control your emotions. It's very important if you can control your emotions. It gives you a better chance to do every thing you do well. Try to control yourself and do your best
education
What should I do to make my grades go up? I think the way to get better grades is to pay more attention in class, do all of my work, and do what the teacher asks me to do. Why is it important to come to school? Well, I think it's important to come to school to get more education than someone that is in their house doing nothting. I think education is important to become someone in life. Here in the U.S., if you don't have an education, you're nobody. That's why you have to have an education.I go to school to not work as a dishwasher, etc. If you get an education you can become a doctor, lawyer or whatever you want to become.

Soccer

I will talk about me and the best sport in the world, Soccer. My name is Marco Fernandez. I'm from Mexico. I came to the United States when I was 11 years old. One of my first goals was that I had was to learn English and to get a better education. My parents motivate me to continue my studies. I have a dream of buying a big house for my parents. I want to go to the University of Monterrey; in my opinion, it is one of the best universities in Mexico. I go to Crockett High School in Austin, Texas. Crockett doesn't have a good soccer team, but we do our best to win games. Soccer is the best sport in the world. In my opinion the best soccer player is Ronaldiho (that's him at right). He plays for Ac Milan in Italy, and my soccer team is Santos Laguna--it's a soccer team from Mexico. Here in the US, the most famous sport is American football. This makes soccer unpopular here in the US. The national soccer team is very good but they dont get much attention. They almost won one of the most important cups in the world, the Confederation cup in South Africa where the World Cup will be. Soccer is a tiring sport. You have to be in good condition to play it. Soccer is very fun and entertaining.
